1. Danielle has been stealing for years. She's better at it than I am.
2. We really don't worry about getting caught. We're not stealing from the Gap here. We're stealing from shitty corner bodegas and supermarkets and drugstores.
3. The part that I needed - and still need - to think on is the idea that the world can owe you. Not whether or not stealing is right.
Of course it's wrong to steal. We know that's wrong. Lucca saying the world owes us and that we deserve what we steal is what made me pause. I'm not sure about agreeing with that part.

I'm not sure why the world owes you. I mean, we could all say that. Bad things happen to good people all the time, all over this country. Stuff we can't explain. Wouldn't world owe them all too? Your friend, and maybe you, are simply trying to justify a wrong. I feel for your situation, and I'm not in your situation so does that make it easier for me to say all this, sure it does.
personally i think it's easier to justify stealing from the gap or some faceless corporation than from deli owners who own their own businesses and have to put up with all kinds of shit every day.

I don't think you're looking for our approval or disapproval in anyway, you're sharing what's going on with you. It's not for me to judge it. I don't agree with or condone what your friend does, but we all make our own bed. I know it's a huge world out there and everyone has very real problems, but we're all very connected. I choose to spread the good energy, share the positive and try and keep moving in that direction.
I think you are doing the best you can right now, and I have lots of good hopes and wishes for your future...sending you those through the ether here babe:)
