Today I asked Arnie if I can take a day off in August. This is the last summer Alex is going to performing arts camp and she wants me to go to her ballet recital. Last night she made hand-drawn invitations and this morning handed them out. I was invited with a guest and am to RSVP by Friday.
Josh showed me the two invitations Alex left for him, with a note asking him to give them to his parents. They have until Monday to RSVP. When I asked why they get more time to decide, Alex told me they're busier than me and it might be harder for them to decide.
Danielle was not invited with a guest but did get a note with her invitation saying the only reason for that is because she's not dating anyone. If that changes Dani can tell Alex, who will re-issue a new invitation that has an option for a guest.
Alex also brought an invitation with her to camp today, to ask the front office people for the address of the people who are paying for her scholarship. Their invitation is more fancy than the other ones. I am a little jealous.
This totally explains why Alex was grilling Josh on what formal and black tie mean last night.

HDVixen, these people have been REALLY nice to us. They've given all three of us scholarships to this camp, for as long as we were young enough to go. Plus it's not like just Boys & Girls Club, it's this really nice day camp outside of the city for all these different performing arts. I hope they will be happy that Alex is going to a performing arts high school in the fall.
