Very busy doing very important things

Josh has a Netflix account. I am not sure he knows but there is this whole uproar about how they're raising their rates. I am worried when he comes back and finds out, Josh will cancel Netflix like a lot of people are doing, so in all our free time Alex and I have been watching movies like it's a job. We have gotten through like half the queue in the last week.

We have watched a lot of Pink performances. I am always kind of embarrassed to be really into someone so blatantly trendy but she sort of hates the mainstream too even though she's in it, so I give up. I like Pink. I like the Dear Mr. President song best, and Sober second best. Alex isn't shy about her Pink love at all, and has made up dances to all her songs.

Hi, Sam. I've been out of the loop a bit since I went on maternity leave, but I'm getting caught up and just saw the comments about using the word "retard/ed" in casual conversation.
I want to share the link to a post I wrote about this very subject for you and/or anyone else who might be interested. I don't yell at people when they say it, but it does make me cringe when I hear it/read it.

I wish you would weigh in on the comments on your previous post. At least stand up for yourself - I am seriously doubting your legitimacy at this point.

Anon, what's the point of her weighing in? People either believe her or don't. Personally I don't think she owes any of the negative nellies any explanations. Some of the points they try to make hold no water. She seems to tutor very young children with reading, so there's nothing wrong with needing her math whiz sister to help with math homework. Maybe Sam is saving her insurance money, or maybe her aunt was using it or withholding it from her. We don't know. I for one, don't think Sam owes it to us to tell us every single little detail.

Im sorry Anonymouses but bloggers dont actually owe anything to anyone - and Sam doesnt have to weigh in or stand up for herself either!! I keep coming here becouse I love her writting and she is an amazing young person with conviction and a firm belief of what is right for her and her sister. if you dont like that maybe you should stop commenting/reading. Of course we would love more details on her life but she doesnt owe us that either.

How is it that in June you described yourself as not being a fan of her music, and now you're like the world's biggest Pink fan? http://samsrainbowsandunicorns.blogspot.com/2011/06/may-not-be-huge-fan-of-her-music.html

Noelle, I've wondered a lot about some things, but doesn't that seem picky? She doesn't say she's the world's biggest Pink fan. She says she's watched a lot of Pink performances with her sister lately. Maybe her tastes have changed? Real life isn't perfectly consistent, don't you think?

It is very interesting to me to see which of the comments you decide to delete. My response to Isabel in the last thread was deleted. I think because I once again asserted that none of the 343 firemen that lost their life on 9/11 also lost their mother in the towers. That is a fact. I also said that my time spent reading the profiles of those brave men that lost their lives that day was not wasted, but the time people spent helping Sam find a new dress to wear on Friday sure as hell was.

I am not too concerned with her new love of pink, I am sure that was in response to my commenting how much of her tastes skews older a la the 90's references of concrete blondes, doc martins and Chelsea Clinton...

What I do find interesting is that even though she has no friends at college she met some random guy that was willing to let her break her college rules to bring in her sisters into the pool who are under 18, even though that could lose the guy his job and open Hunter College (which allows guests over 18 for a nominal fee) up to a world of liability. Maybe you could get a 16 year old to pass for 18 and fly under the radar, but not a 13 year old. And while college security may be relaxed at lecture halls, they are usually very strict at the gymnasium/health & fitness facilities where there are showers, equipment, etc. And people would be more at risk for injury and death. I call b.s. on that story too.

It seems as though very little big or small is true on this blog.

I am stoked that you don't feel as though your time spent reading the profiles of the deceased 9/11 firefighters was a waste of time. You'd sort of be a jackass if you thought it was, now wouldn't you? You are, however, proving a point for me quite well. You wanted to find her real identity...and you went and read the profiles of 343 firefighters to do so, gathering information about their families and lives so that you could feel better about assigning a name to someone who does not want their name associated with their blog. It's an outlet. You don't know her real story, if it differs from this one, and really, detective, it isn't any of your business. It's just not. You're persistence proves exactly why bloggers try to stay anonymous.

I really cannot stand the self-righteous garbage that people start spouting about the 9/11 stuff. YOU DON'T KNOW HER, you don't know the extent to which she was really involved, you don't know the manner. It could be more than you see here. It could be less. Either way, I think that walking out your door and getting some fresh air would be best for you, because you are way, way, way too invested in learning information that the author clearly does not want you to have. This isn't the NYT. This is a blog. Find. Another. Blog.
