The aftermath of my life after 9/11, when half my family died. How I am struggling to come back to the self my mother used to love and be proud of while still letting myself grow.

For the record
I think therapy is bullshit. I'll send Alex and everything, but think just punching her in the face would be much faster and make the the point in a much more direct way.
Meh. I think therapy is pretty much a waste of time, too. Teenagers rebel and think things aren't fair, and are annoying. It's what they do. But it might help in the sense that Alex needs to hear a grownup tell her what you've been telling her, and your relationship is so strained you sort of require a mediator. This is primarily why I think sending Alex off to someone to "talk about her feelings" isn't a real solution, but if it means that at one point the two of you go together and have a talk there it could be useful. Maybe.
I wonder if Josh's parents could be persuaded to have a little chat with Alex, since she probably remembers what you went through when moving out from Aunt Elaine's.
Of course, you know her a lot better than I do, so...

Really? You don't remember how much help you got from Craig?

I'm sure Aunt Elaine would agree with you.
