The aftermath of my life after 9/11, when half my family died. How I am struggling to come back to the self my mother used to love and be proud of while still letting myself grow.
Really? You don't remember how much help you got from Craig?
Meh. I think therapy is pretty much a waste of time, too. Teenagers rebel and think things aren't fair, and are annoying. It's what they do. But it might help in the sense that Alex needs to hear a grownup tell her what you've been telling her, and your relationship is so strained you sort of require a mediator. This is primarily why I think sending Alex off to someone to "talk about her feelings" isn't a real solution, but if it means that at one point the two of you go together and have a talk there it could be useful. Maybe.I wonder if Josh's parents could be persuaded to have a little chat with Alex, since she probably remembers what you went through when moving out from Aunt Elaine's.Of course, you know her a lot better than I do, so...
I'm sure Aunt Elaine would agree with you.
