Interning is over. It ended with a flurry of filing and being late to celebratory beverages. A little after 7:30 final hugs were given before running off to meet Josh, who'd insisted on taking me to dinner. Today I ate a hangover breakfast in bed, met up with Becca for a while, then went over to visit Dani at work and take her to lunch.

It was a little weird to see her/my boss. He gave me a hug though, saying it was great to see me. He asked if I was angling to get a job there after I graduate. Thinking about what the scary partner talked about at lunch the other day, I told him I'm just trying to create as many opportunities to choose from as possible. He kissed the top of my head. "Smart girl."

Danielle and I went to lunch and she told me the weird skinny guy is weird to her too. He laughs at things that are not funny, and asks bizarre questions out of nowhere. She's relieved to almost be finished having to deal with him, even though he's totally harmless.

When I got home the packing started. Tomorrow morning Josh and I leave for New Orleans. He'd asked what my criteria was for picking someplace to go and I told him somewhere near water, not too many hours of travel, and somewhere he's never been either.

Something about saying that got Josh all excited, even more than usual. I think he liked that there was a challenge involved. Josh spent all day looking stuff up, making notes, getting recs from friends on the best places to go. I don't speak French (unless ballet counts), but am excited anyway. Laissez les bons temps rouler.

Have fun! Commander's Palace, is old school and good, have a Campari and soda and there Cosmo and Old Fashioned were good too from what I was told:), if you there you have to try Cafe Dumonde not that it's the absolute best, but because it's just a NOLA thing to say you tried, but still very YUMMY.
Can't wait to hear all about it!

I'm guessing you're enjoying New Orleans (though it's HOT in August). Try to get out of the French Quarter and see other parts of the city, too. We did a Bayou tour that was really fun and checked out the art museum. I tried so many foods in New Orleans that I'd never eaten before and they were all delicious (escargot, turtle, alligator, and ostrich).
